The gift is in the giving at Mankara

Over-55s apartment complex Mankara is set to begin construction early next year with 70 per cent of presales now secured.

Located in Manning, the development will see 82 strata-titled apartments built for over-55s and dependent residents over four levels, as well as a cafe on the ground floor, a community centre and a roof deck for entertaining.

Prices range from $309,000 to $838,950 and all apartments are strata-titled for over-55s residents, meaning there is no leaseback or sell back.

The development is powered by not-for-profit Southcare, with apartments purchased through selling agent ACTON.

Southcare CEO Nicky Howe said the development had community, care and connection at its core.

“Not only does it address a very real shortage of appropriate and diverse housing for aged and dependent people, it provides a social solution for residents and our wider community,” Dr Howe said.

“More than 27,000 people who are over 55 years of age currently live within a 10km radius of Mankara, and they tell us they want to retain their housing asset and have better quality and safer options as they age.

“This development is for them and any others who want to downsize with dignity, knowing they can also access care and support services if they later choose to.”

Buyers who purchase a Mankara apartment by Christmas Eve will also receive a Magic of Christmas package featuring a $25,000 gift.

Choose one of four Christmas crackers – cashback, furniture voucher, kitchen upgrade and holiday voucher – each valued at $25,000.

Dr Howe said the gifts were from the developer to say thank you for the great response to the new community.

“The gift is in the giving and we are so excited to do our bit as we welcome people into this over-55s community,” Dr Howe said.

“With 70 per cent of presales now secured, we are almost ready to start construction, which will be another gift to homebuyers in the New Year.”

Dr Howe said the Magic of Christmas package was all the more special now that the stamp duty rebate had reduced from 75 per cent to 50 per cent.

“We all love value, especially at this time of year,” she said.

“The Magic of Christmas is all about togetherness, family and fun, so what better way is there to gather and celebrate than with a new home complete with a $25,000 gift, plus 50 per cent in stamp duty rebates?”

The $25,000 Christmas cracker runs until midnight on Friday December 24. Eligibility criteria and terms and conditions apply.
